Crisaborole is used to treat eczema (atopic dermatitis; a skin condition which causes the skin to be dry and itchy and to sometimes develop red, scaly rashes) in adults and children 3 years of age and older. Crisaborole is in a class of medications called phosphodiesterase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances in the body that cause inflammation.
Crisaborole is a pDE4 inhibitor used in dermatology. Its molecular formula is C15H19BN2O3 with CAS 1076838-24-8. The core synthesis involves boronic acid esterification.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Not recommended for patients with known hypersensitivity to the compound.
