Ferric Citrate is an inorganic iron salt widely used as a phosphate binder and iron supplement. Produced via the reaction of ferric oxide with citric acid, its chemical formula is C6H5Fe3O7 (CAS No. 14209-18-2).
Strictly contraindicated in patients with hemochromatosis or hypersensitivity to iron salts. Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture to prevent hydrolysis. Handle with appropriate PPE to avoid respiratory irritation.
