Human Tetanus Immunoglobulin (HTIG) is a sterile solution of immunoglobulins derived from human plasma, specifically enriched with antibodies against tetanus toxin. Produced via cold ethanol fractionation and viral inactivation, it serves as passive immunization.
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to human IgG. Requires storage at 2°C to 8°C; do not freeze. Administer intramuscularly only; separate injection sites from tetanus toxoid vaccines are mandatory.
