Tanshinone IIA is a lipophilic diterpene quinone isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza. It is primarily produced via supercritical CO2 extraction or solvent extraction followed by chromatographic purification. The molecular formula is C19H18O4 with CAS number 6596-72-1.
Strictly regulate clinical dosage due to potential hepatotoxicity. Store in sealed, light-proof containers at 2-8°C. Handle with PPE to avoid skin contact and inhalation of dust.
