Current regulatory developments, insights in overcoming regulatory barriers, and its impact on research and development for medicinal and medical products in major Southeast Asian markets (e.g. Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) in comparison to more mature East Asian countries, including pre-clinical, clinical, manufacturing, and dossier requirements, will be discussed.

Ms. He Chun Hong, joined CCCMHPIE in 1994, has been committed to providing pharmaceutical enterprises with information services in the field of international trade and investment, technical and legal services, international exchanges and cooperation. From 1999 to 2003, She served as the Third Secretary and the Second Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Indonesia.

She has joined many multilateral and bilateral governmental talks between China and key countries, planed and organized major events and international meetings, leaded or participated in the research projects of Ministry of Commerce PRC, National Health Commission, National Development and Reform Commission, NMPA and other national government departments, as well as international organization projects such as Gates Foundation. She has kept work relationship with foreign drug administration agencies, industry organizations and key foreign institutions in China. She plays an active role in promoting the international trade and investment and the construction of the quality system of the pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Kenny Peng

Kenny Peng, MASc, RAC, P.Eng., is Managing Director, Asia, for PharmEng Technology, a professional consultancy headquartered in Canada, with regional operations for US, Greater China, and Southeast Asia. Kenny is a graduate of University of Waterloo in Canada and primarily consults in North America, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. He specializes in cross-border projects, such as international technology transfers, international business development, and region-wide regulatory affairs in Asia. PharmEng is a full-solution consultancy providing technical and business solutions to the highly-regulated life science sector. Founded in 1997 in Toronto, Canada, and established in Asia since 2005, it specializes in compliance and strategy services for clients operating multinationally or intending to launch in multi-markets. Mr. Sirasak Teparkum

CEO of Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS)

Dr.Sirasak Teparkum is the CEO of Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) which aims to drive Thailand as the leader of life science industry in ASEAN and promote life science industry to be one of the top ten highest industry by 2027. He has joined TCELS since 2016 as a Deputy CEO, responsible for research and innovation department including four programs, Bio-Pharmaceutical & Regenerative Medicine Program, Natural Product and Cosmeceutical Program, Medical Device and Medical Robotic Program, and Medicopolis Program.

Dr. Sirasak Teparkum had long experience of various technology transfer projects related to nanotechnology translational research, creating both income and economic impacts to Thailand more than seven billion Baht (7,000 Million Baht) and had experiences in top executive management at the national research center including chief of editor of books and journals. Before joining TCELS, he had worked at the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), National Science Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) for 12 years, including to serve as a Deputy Executive Director for 8 years.

Dr. Sirasak Teparkum received the Bachelor degree of Horticulture at Kasetsart University and B.Sc. in Biology from Concord College, West Virginia. Afterwards, he pursued his Master and Ph.D Degree, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the field of plant tissue culture and plant-insect molecular interaction.
Ms. Do Thanh Huyen

Assistant Manager of Business Intelligence, HCMC Office Vietnam, Dezan Shira & Associates

Do Thanh Huyen is an Associate of Business Intelligence based at Dezan Shira & Associates’ Hanoi office. She has been involved with various site selection, partners and vendor identification and vetting and industrial market opportunity analysis studies. Ms. Huyen has worked well with both MNCs, government agencies and local companies in variety of sector including manufacture, agriculture, electronics, F&B and other services sectors.

Having spent several years in Germany and therefore skilled in German, Huyen plays a key role in the firm’s German Desk in Vietnam for which she nurtures and develops local partnerships with the German business partners community, coordinates German language publications and is point of contact for all German speaking clients interested in doing business in Vietnam.

Prior working at Dezan Shira, she has gained consulting experience throughout Europe and Vietnam. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
